who we are

Rock Paper Scissors is a grass roots community arts organisation. Our focus is on creative learning - our role is to build confidence and encourage aspiration in our young artists. We teach problem solving and independent thinking through art & design. Our participants build confidence through working in small groups and it is important to us to provide a positive and inclusive space for all to shine.

HOW IT began

Lulu and Chloe set up Rock Paper Scissors Arts Group in 2019 to meet a need for high-quality, innovative yet accessible arts tuition for children and young people in Ipswich and Suffolk. We have since seen the power creative tuition has to empower children and young people and bring our community together.

where we are now

The Rock Paper Scissors community includes our wonderful core team featured below, as well as many more volunteers, supporters and partner organisations. We deliver our work alongside local cultural and charitable organisations such as Ipswich and Colchester Museums, Suffolk Archives, Suffolk Libraries, Suffolk Family Carers, Ipswich JobCentre Plus, Lighthouse Women’s Aid, Suffolk Refugee Support, Suffolk Mind and Volunteering Matters.

Our team are all DBS checked, have paediatric first aid training, mental health first aid training and safeguarding qualifications.
